If you can catch Jenn sitting down for longer than fifteen minutes, consider yourself lucky, because she is always on the run doing something in her high heels. She has had a life of adventure, with real challenges at a young age, and she has channeled every one of those experiences into something positive as she has grown.
The early chaptersThe hard things came first
Jenn lost her dad to suicide when she was eleven years old. He was forty-two. Her mom fought cancer in her thirties, a second cancer in her forties, and passed away at fifty-two, when Jenn had just turned thirty. By her early thirties, all of her grandparents were gone too. Through all of it, her brother has been her biggest support, the constant through every chapter of her adult life.
She moved eighteen times growing up, not always knowing where the next dollar would come from. Those years could have hardened her. Instead, they built the person attorneys and families now call in their own hardest seasons: someone who has stood where her clients stand, and who never forgot what it feels like.
FamilyThe biggest blessing
The greatest gift of Jenn's life was becoming a mother to her two daughters, Lauren and Jenna. Being their mom has been the most gratifying role of her lifetime. Years after a divorce, and after more than four years single, Jenn added her amazing husband Jason to her life, along with his four children: Hali, Kora, Korbin, and Hayden. Together the eight of them have built a blended family blessed with a lot of laughter and natural chemistry, and with Jason's support bringing balance to her life, Jenn has been able to accomplish whatever she sets her mind to, without boundaries.
The builderAn admitted addiction to creating companies
Jenn is the founder of K Real Estate, The Give Back Brokerage, The FMK Foundation, The Give Back Brokerage Charitable Foundation, and the Yellow For Life Organization. From the moment you meet her, you will understand why her logos are fun and lively: every time she has a vision for a new business, the first step is creating the logo, because it is her favorite part of the process. Each one carries a meaning and a story with layers well beyond the visual.
The record built alongside the companies: top 1% of brokers within the Salt Lake Board of Realtors, an eight time Top 500 Realtor Award recipient, a two time Gold Hall of Fame Award recipient, the Salt Lake Board's Good Neighbor Award, Utah Business 30 Women to Watch, a Success Magazine Trendsetter Award, a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Scholar, and this February, the Spirit of Main Street Award for her work reviving downtown Murray. Her designations tell the same story: CRS, SRES, CCA, CLHMS, and CDRE, where she is one of only four Certified Divorce Real Estate Experts in the entire state of Utah. See the full credential record here.
The heartWhy the giving back is real
Jenn has a genuine affection for the real estate industry, and an equal one for giving back to her community through suicide prevention and mental health awareness. She is a QPR certified trainer in suicide awareness, and she understands both sides of her work from the inside: what it is like to stand in her clients' shoes during the biggest transaction of their lifetime, and what it is like to lose a loved one to suicide and severe mental illness. Her passion for both keeps her in love with life every day.
Over six hundred pairs, and every one means something
Her main hobby these days is collecting unique statement shoes, especially high heels, an admitted addiction of many years. The collection has grown past six hundred pairs, and most are art rather than shoes that will ever be worn. Clients have gifted her hand-carved wooden heels, a red high heel crafted entirely of metal washers, and her real estate team even presented her with a gold high heel award. When you see Closing Deals in High Heels on her cards, now you know: it was never a gimmick. It is a celebration.
The funChallenge her to a headstand contest. She will win.
When Jenn is not creating businesses, she is taking ballroom dance lessons, wine tasting with her husband, or spending time with family. She is a published poet who loves taking pictures. And it is her mission to be able to do headstands for the rest of her life, regardless of age or footwear. She has done them on a hill in ski boots, in ice skates outside the rink, on the roadside by the state freeway signs, and in a vineyard while wine tasting, in high heels. She wants everyone around her at ease, and everyone who meets her leaving certain she is truly genuine. Even when she beats you at a headstand.
"NO FEAR mentality. Try one thing every day that scares you."
Jenn's motto
